IS SELLING ON AMAZON A SCAM!? MAYBE THE WORLD SHOULD KNOW!
Hi
I am so frustrated! I have had what seems like fraudulent activity on my account for months with "other buyers" I think it is one buyer with multiple accounts trying to harm my business and will buy my product and then return it. I have way too much evidence to show that it has to be fraudulent. I am only selling one product as I wanted to see if I could make this a success and if I did so, then would proceed to sell other products.
Anywho, for months I have been trying to report abuse under "another buyer account is attempting to harm my business" but that is not a category. So, when I choose ANY of the categories(which messages will not show which category I have chosen and this needs to be changed for better support) someone will respond or "answer my question/case" by telling me to choose a different category to report the issue. I called and did the same thing. They will direct me to someone else. I am just going around in circles after circles for months and no one will actually look into my account purchases for suspicious activity. And when someone does respond by telling me to go somewhere else to report my case will have been "answered" so no one will look at it again. So who will investigate!? Who will help me? Also, when I report abuse under most abuse categories -- you only get around 500 words or something to use. It's like what!? That is not enough room to input my complaint. AMAZON is a BIG company and with any big company, there are scammers and people trying to harm other people's business. But does Amazon care!? Does their customer service even come close to sufficing or helping the seller's needs!?
SELLING ON AMAZON UP TO THIS POINT HAS FELT LIKE ONE BIG SCAM! The one product I have tried to sell has repetitive fraudulent buyers costing me account health and 100's, filing cases for help has cost me a lot of time, and no one will help me. And if they do investigate it and find it fraudulent, would they even help me set my account health straight? Where it needs to be? From what I hear they will somehow blame it on the seller that it was their fault for potentially having a third party involved at some point or point the finger back at us. THIS IS UNJUSTICE!
You would think with all the money that Amazon makes that they would invest more into helping the sellers with better support and care. And, you would think that they would have one of the best fraudulent or scam detection programs. And that there would be better and quicker investigators. With all the money they are making they should spend more to make our lives easier, not harder. Could someone please explain to me what they are charging us for under the "others" category? Because I just think that is ridiculous for a huge corporation to not list exactly what they are charging their employees.

The forum community appreciates that everyone needs to vent sometimes, and this is a good place, since we all get it.
I read that you are having issues with Abuse, is it possible you have a case # for a mod to look at? Do you have a case # for your contact about the charge in the "Other" category?
They charge many people under Other category unfortunately, but there is usually an Order ID in the transaction view. Can you figure out why, thru that way? Maybe try to investigate if it was a postage or return issue?
The Abuse I cant help you with, but were here to listen, & maybe if you have the case #'s, you can post them to see if a mod can help see whats going on. Best of luck!

I would create an open case, and then ask a mod on this forum to create something called a Forums Escalation.
That is the only way I have been able to get help regarding seller abuse and listing hijacking.
Trying to get the regular seller support to fix it is like getting a dog to drive a car; it ain't gonna happen.

The truth is you are on your own, Amazon mods are basically no help. This month I've had around $5,000 in merch stolen from me and Amazon won't lift a finger to help. My friend has been scammed over $14,000 this month.
So what I am forced to do is contacting the USPS for mail fraud and the authorities.
Amazon is NOT going to protect you, you need to protect yourself.

I would strongly advise you to diversify. We set up accounts in various other channels and also have pushed the old-school reps to customers and it has been great. Amazon margins are more and more les and less. They provide dismal support when you are getting scammed by buyers or other hackers. It is so easy for Asian hackers to steal your brand and amazon just sit idle and watches it happen. Protect your interest and diversify or seek greener pasture.

It is injustice not unjustice.
Maybe try a different platform or your own website or maybe even on FB.
Since Jeff stepped back, they don't really care.
Having people to handle issues cost money. Money they would rather line their pockets with.

Many sellers on this forum (including me) have sold on Amazon for 20 years or more. Sometimes we can be of more help than Amazon (we have experience selling, their reps don't). But we would need specifics. Not that this necessarily applies to you, but MANY times it is the SELLER doing things wrong. I have seen sellers selling cd's discs (no case or artwork) as brand new. I have seen people selling cd's that have "only been listened to once" as brand new (this was back in the day when you could add a description to brand new listings). Those people are still listing stuff like that, you just can't see condition comments for new items anymore. I have also seen people list Hallmark ornaments as brand new simply because they had their box still (even though the box was beat up). I have seen people ship breakable items in bubble mailers and then complain about the post office breaking everything. It goes on and on. So when a seller comes on here and gripes but doesn't give specifics, not only can we not help, but we have to wonder if the problem doesn't lie with the seller since so many tens of thousands of sellers have minimal problems.

Amazon is in decline. Amazon treats there third party sellers like hostages. Why? Because we kind of are hostages.
Like others have said, diversify. Never trust Amazon. Never trust that Amazon will be an ethical, moral business partner. Amazon is the most sociopathic corporation America has ever seen. Amazon is hyper-capitalist but Amazon wants their sellers to embrace being charities and operating at losses for the benefit of Amazon. And Amazon is openly hostile towards their sellers. They hold us in contempt. This is what happens when a company like Amazon buys off the politicians in both major parties. Amazon can be lawless and destructive.

Now the latest Amazon rip off of sellers: shipping cost "adjustments" which incur charges falsely measured for additional weight and sizes
