Categories and products requiring approval

We want customers to be able to shop with confidence on Amazon. For certain products and categories, Amazon might require additional fees, performance checks, and other qualifications.

Products that require approval

Even if selling an entire category does not require approval from Amazon, selling certain products may require approval (listed below). See the next section on how to submit a request for approval.

Categories that require approval

For certain categories, to ensure that customers are able to buy with confidence from Amazon, sellers must be proactively approved by Amazon, and we may not currently be accepting applications:

  • Grocery
  • Baby Food and Formula
  • Pet Food
  • Dietary Supplements/ Sports Nutrition/ Vitamins and Minerals

Sellers are required to match against existing pages in our catalog, where possible. Creating new product pages that duplicate existing product pages is prohibited.

To learn more about selling in one of the product categories listed here, sellers should contact us for more information. When submitting a request, please provide the name of your company and a link to your company website, if applicable. Your request should also include the following information:

  • Product category you plan to sell and specific information on the products in question.
  • Confirmation that you are a registered business.
  • Confirmation that your items are approved for sale in Saudi Arabia. Only products that are intended to be sold in Saudi Arabia can be listed on If you are not sure, please check with the manufacturer or supplier.

We will review requests as they are received. We may not be accepting applications to sell, but if we are we may ask you to provide additional information based on our requirements for the category. We will notify you once a decision has been made.

Request approval

Sellers must meet additional qualifications to sell certain brands or list within certain categories on Amazon. Follow these steps to apply for approval:
  1. From the Inventory menu select Add a Product.
  2. Search for the item you want to sell.
  3. In the search results, click the Listing limitations apply link next to the item.
  4. Click the Request Approval button to begin the application process.

    To check the status of an application, return to the Add a Product tool and click the Manage your selling applications link.

  5. Upload the required documentation for the products you intend to list. Depending on the product you are applying for and how you acquire the products, the documents requested may vary. You should be able to obtain most of these documents from your supplier.
  6. Submit the application. Within a few days, our seller support applications team will either approve the application or get in touch for more information.

Restricted products
